FrSky Taranis X9D Plus 2.4GHz ACCST Radio
So, Recently after getting bored from the traditional flysky 9x with XJT module and due to the module was loose getting the Rssi beeps i decided to buy a new radio.
Had very few options to buy a Radio which would suit for all the Rc Hobby i do from multirotors to Ap rigs and Planes to gliders for long range…. well earlier i had my thoughts about Radiolink 10ch Tx, but then the availability of the rx and support to various modules and systems available in market were very few even though it was under a budget of 10k INR.
Well at the end i came to the most famous and almost used by everyone FrSky Taranis X9D Plus this is the best fitted among all my use and have so many extra features with a lot of customization options and a community support for various things… additional to it TBS has a lot of modules which help to get reliable support and range and to find lost rc stuff..
The above is the closer look at the Taranis it has a lot of features which were new to me like the haptic feedback and backlight then the speaker which made the transmitter speak to me even it speaks out the telemetry data and Rssi feed which helps us when you are in the goggles…
I had flashed my Flysky to Open Tx firmware but it didnt had a speaker and couldnt speak to me which could have been moded but at the price of 20k INR ie: Taranis with X4r combo why not get it …..
Now i have set a timer of 4 minutes and while into the goggles my Tx tells me the strength of the signal from my kwad and even the time left to land it also gives a count down ….
In additional to these it also supports AP rigs for gimbal control, etc.
Below are the few things i felt new in this transmitter
- Haptic feedback
- Blue backlight, night ops style.
- Better potentiometers and feedback on the sliders and knobs (sensitivity)
- Improved internal wiring
Above is the picture defining all the slots for module support and extra features and ports and all buttons and switches….
As it has Open Tx it already does a lot for you and simple to setup..
Rx is easily available and the main thing is it has a XJT module inbuild so it almost supports all Frsky Rx available in market if you need a specific module for Rx then you can just plug it in the module bay it will use it plug and play…
Unlike what i had to do earlier to use a open lrs 433mhz module i had moded the flysky to use XJT and Open lrs together via a switch and some times i felt they both caused interference while midflight or noise may be.. who likes loosing thier Rc stuff mid flight.
I would recommend Frsky Taranis X9D plus as the best Tx to start with and its a one time investment you get the follow components with the Radio.
- Taranis X9D Plus ACCST 2.4GHz Transmitter (Mode 2 version)
- 1x 6-cell 2000mAh NiMH Transmitter Battery
- Radio battery wall charger
- Neck Strap
Also you get a receiver if you order a combo pack.
